The beans have come up and look good. But when the sun is out with little in the way of cloud cover they tend to curl up and wilt. I might try shade cloth over them.
The sweet potatoes really took off. I think they are starting to get ready to be picked because we are getting some yellow leaves on the. It's been over 70 days since they were planted and the source I bought them from says 90 days to harvest. Another source said 110. The variety is Vardaman.
Was at Home Depot this morning to pick up a few flowering plants for some pots and bought a pot of Leeks and a cucumber. Since one of the three I planted died. I have never tried Leeks before so we'll give it a shot.
I put them in a large pot and will keep them semi shaded until they start growing.
Since I put the shade cloth over the eggplant and new peppers the eggplant perked up pretty nice.I have been battling fire ants in that bed for a while and think I finally got them to move on. I picked all the little eggplant fruit off the plants to let them get a rest before more started. The new ones look a lot better.
Since I picked all the watermelon and pruned the vines back they have sent out a lot of new shoots and a few are flowering.
Here are the remaining two cucumber plants which are starting to grow. I will plant the new one where the other one died. Hopefully I'll get some before the heat gets to them.
